As we continue through the school year I would like to ask you to help your child with their basic multiplication facts. A lot of what we do in math revolves around knowing those facts, so it's helpful if the kids have them down! You can find flashcards at most stores, online, or you can have them set up an account with https://xtramath.org. If you could help them practice just 10-15 minutes each night, that would be so helpful! Thank you very much, and let me know if you have any questions! Have a great week!

The 5th graders have been hard at work building their robots. Right now, they are working with different parts and observing what each item does!
Attached is the presentation I did at open house for those who were unable to make it! Thanks all for coming! I am so excited for a great year!
I look forward to meeting with you at the Open House tomorrow! We will have sign up sheets for class volunteers and classroom representatives. If you have not signed up for FreshSchools, PLEASE do so :) . There will also be computers set up at the Open House tomorrow so you can sign up.
Good morning! Please remember to sign all pages of the first day of school packet and return to me ASAP :)
Also, book orders were sent home in Tuesday folders. If you choose to order online, our class code can be found on my favorite sites page! Welcome to the first full week of school! Here are a few updates/reminders.
Tuesday envelopes will be sent home every Tuesday. I will also be sending home a "home folder." The home folder will go home every day, and it will be used to hold any unfinished work, or notes that must be sent home that day. Please ask to check your child's home folder every evening. On the topic of homework, I tend to not assign specific work for homework in the evening. I like to give students time in class to finish their work, and if they don't finish it in the time given, they will take it home that evening. If a student is confused about the work, then PLEASE have them come ask me for help the next day. The goal is to see that the students understand what they are doing, and I am always willing to help when needed. Planners will also be sent home every day. We will fill them out together, and the student is responsible for checking off if the work is complete. Students will also be trying out the three different music classes the next two weeks, and then will make a decision on which class they will be joining. It is my understanding that once they choose, they are not allowed to switch. Please let me know if there are any questions! Can you believe that the first day of school is almost here? I am very excited to meet everyone and get started! I am sure you have heard, but the students in my class will be with me for Math, ELA, and Science. They will get to switch to Ms. Martin's class for Social Studies! I think it will be fun for the kids, and it will definitely be fun for me as I will get the opportunity to know more of the kids here at Arrowhead!
I can't wait for Thursday, and if you ever have any questions or comments, you may message me on the home page of my blog, or you may email me at [email protected]. Welcome to our 5th Grade class site! I will use this site to post photos, announcements, and assignments that we are working on in class. I will be updating this site once a week! Feel free to contact me with any questions. I look forward to meeting you all very soon!
