On top of our in class learning, we have quite a few other activities this week! Tuesday is class picture day. I have received most of the slips back, but remember to send those yellow forms back that state whether or not your child will be participating in the individual pictures as well.
Wednesday at 8:30 is the school spelling bee. We will be attending to support the 4th and 5th graders that made it. On Thursday, Fish, Wildlife, and Parks will be visiting the school for some Fish Math. I can't wait to see what we learn there! In math, we are starting our fractions unit. You can help your child at home by practicing how to find common denominators, and then adding and subtracting these fractions. In science, we are learning how to create models for real life situations, and discussing why scientists may create models. In ELA we are continuing to work on using context clues to decode words that we don't know. We are also discussing how a narrator's point of view can affect a story.
