Happy New Year!  I hope that everyone enjoyed the holiday break.  I am so excited to see all of the kiddos back at school.

This week will be short, but we have a lot of work planned!  In math, we will continue to work on multiplying decimals and doing a little refresher of where we left off before break.

In ELA we are continuing to work on narrative writing, and will soon move into expository writing.

In Science, Ms. Ziegler's class will switch to infection detection, where they learn how germs spread, and how to prevent the spread of germs.

Ms. Martin's class will begin to explore robots and what different types of robots do.

On January 4th, we will have a visitor from ZooMontana coming to present to the 5th grade class.  The presentation will be about animals in Native American culture.

    About Me.

This will be my 6th year as a teacher, and my second year in the Billings School District.

I grew up in Clancy, MT with my parents and my younger brother.  I went to The University of Montana and received my B.A. in Elementary Education.  After graduating, I spent a year in Seoul, South Korea teaching English.  Next, I moved to Chester, MT and spent two years teaching 5th and 6th grade Math and Science and one year teaching 4th grade.  I just finished my Masters in Middle School Math.

When I'm not teaching, I love to spend time outdoors.  I love hiking, running, playing tennis, or camping.  One of my favorite places to camp at is Yellowstone National Park.  I try to travel there a few times a year.
