We have some exciting learning planned for this week!

The students are working on the presentations for their inquiry projects.  Students are writing a fictional story as if they were a part of the Lewis & Clark expedition.  I encouraged students to be creative, and told them they could create presentations to go along with the story.  They have all of this week to work on it, but may need to do some work at home, depending on the project.

In Science, the students are continuing to work on programming.  They don't have any instructions for their current project, and are instead using what they have learned throughout the year to create a computer model showing how germs spread in a classroom environment.

In math, we are working on multiplying fractions!  We have practiced modeling, and are now working through the arithmetic.

We also get the opportunity to dissect fish this week!  This is part of our Hooked on Fishing program, and I am so excited to see what the kids learn.

The students have been working hard all year and earned a class reward, which we will celebrate on Tuesday.  They voted on 15 minutes of free time/time with devices.  They may use the devices we have at school.  We discussed that if they make the choice to bring their own device, they are responsible for it all day.

I am so looking forward to this week of learning!

    About Me.

This will be my 6th year as a teacher, and my second year in the Billings School District.

I grew up in Clancy, MT with my parents and my younger brother.  I went to The University of Montana and received my B.A. in Elementary Education.  After graduating, I spent a year in Seoul, South Korea teaching English.  Next, I moved to Chester, MT and spent two years teaching 5th and 6th grade Math and Science and one year teaching 4th grade.  I just finished my Masters in Middle School Math.

When I'm not teaching, I love to spend time outdoors.  I love hiking, running, playing tennis, or camping.  One of my favorite places to camp at is Yellowstone National Park.  I try to travel there a few times a year.
